According to CBS News in an article they posted today, “De Pablo will make several guest appearances in the upcoming 11th season of the series (NCIS) in order to finish up the storyline of her tough-as-nails character.”

This is good news for those that were hoping that it wasn’t going to be a one or two episode resolution and even though it’s still sad that her time on the show is coming to an end, perhaps this will give them enough time to come up with an appropriate exit. Read the full article below:

“NCIS” star Cote de Pablo is leaving the cast of the CBS crime drama, the network confirmed.

The 33-year-old actress starred on the series for eight seasons, first joining the cast in 2005 during the show’s third season.

“We respect Cote’s decision, thank her for being an important part of the ‘NCIS’ team, and for eight terrific years playing Ziva David,” CBS said in a statement. “Cote and CBS share a great respect for the ‘NCIS’ audience, and we look forward to working with her and the producers on appropriate closure in this chapter of Ziva’s story.”

Her character, a former Israeli Mossad agent, was considered the most dangerous member of the team, even though de Pablo herself had never held a gun before taking on the role.

“The first day I ever went to the shooting range…they gave me the gun…and I thought ‘Oh God, be very strong because you don’t want to show them that you’re weak,'” de Pablo told Gayle King and John Miller on “CBS This Morning” in January.

“And I remember holding that gun and I was just trembling. And I just kept on saying just get it together.”

The Chilean-born actress has been seen as a positive role model for Latin Americans during her time on “NCIS.”

She won an Imagen Award in 2006 and an ALMA Award in 2011 for her work on the series.

De Pablo will make several guest appearances in the upcoming 11th season of the series in order to finish up the storyline of her tough-as-nails character.

“I’ve had 8 great years with NCIS and Ziva David,” de Pablo said in a statement. “I have huge respect and affection for Mark, Gary, Michael, David, Rocky, Pauley, Brian, Sean, all of the team and CBS. I look forward to finishing Ziva’s story.”

“NCIS” returns with new episodes on Sept. 24.

We have to convince CBS that in order to stay number one, the have to pay all their key players the same. They all make the show what it is. Without Cote NCIS will never be he same. KEEP HER!!!

Cote was only going to do the premier episode when CBS said that she would not be returning, now Cote is going to do 7 episodes, makes me wonder if CBS did all they could to keep Cote on the show, to me they did not.

Wish Cote all the best….petitions will not bring her back…she is obviously ready to move on…. am very glad that we’ll have her for several episodes…writers r really going to have to do their best work ever especially with Tony..read this post from one of the many Tony and Ziva blogs…REALLY nails it….what do YOU think…
The thing is, Tony’s character development raises a few issues here. If Ziva dies, realistically, Tony should be devastated. Unable to work. If they were both leaving the show, killing Ziva might make sense because Tony would probably not be able to function again. Last time he thought she’d died, he went to Somalia on a revenge mission he didn’t plan on surviving. He was going to let himself die because he “couldn’t live without her”.So if they kill Ziva, Tony should be destroyed. If they kill Ziva and Tony gets over it in a few episodes o in the first half of the season and goes back to joking around in a few weeks, the character will be ruined anyway because it will alienate us all and make his character development and emotions he had irrelevant
and it will make it a ‘cold character’ – i.e. someone we as watchers/an audience can’t relate to which is bad news for a long running tv show that deals with the human side of crime and the humanity within ourselves, not just the crime process. “It’s about my Family” Ziva said herself.
Realistically, if they kill Ziva, Tony would either follow or leave or drink himself into a hole. He was nigh on committing suicide last time and that was three years ago. They’ve come even further since then….
I think those that don’t buy into Tony and Ziva are not so sad with news of her departure and they are getting what they want so I think it’s time to give the Tiva fans what they want to some extent since they have hung in there since season 3 waiting for the “right time”….folks it’s now or never…..

Cote must be a fulltime part of the cast If I am to continue dvr & watching NCIS. She is the Classy part of the show. and, don’t even think of adding Diane Neal or J. Curtis to the lineup. UGH!!We need Cote, and if CBS is really skilled at negotiations, let’s get this together. No replacement will work.

Per Gary Glasberg, the premiere will be a two-parter and the second part/episode will be Cote’s last, so no “several” or “seven” episodes to tie up her storyline; basically one, since part one I am sure will focus on what Gibbs is doing.
